Falcons, Bengals, Cowboys To Win In Week Three

September 21, 2018

Week three of the NFL season began with the Cleveland Browns ending their 19-game winless streak in the NFL, defeating the New York Jets by four points. Baker Mayfield proved that he could be a star in the making leading his team to the comeback win.

The Browns’ success could inspire other teams to greatness in week three of the campaign as there are still teams aiming to get off the mark in the 2018. We’ll now break down five teams that you should have in your teaser for this weekend’s round of matches.

Ryan will lead the Falcons to victory

New Orleans Saints @ Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons produced a fine performance on home soil to claim their first win of the campaign. Atlanta lost key defensive players Keanu Neal and Deion Jones potentially for the season. However, quarterback Matt Ryan was able to overcome his issues from the opening-day defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles to put 31 points on the board. Ryan was not perfect, although he was more of the quarterback that the Falcons will want to see for the rest of the season. Injuries to Julio Jones and Devonta Freeman are concerning, but Tevin Coleman and Calvin Ridley rose to the occasion last week and will be eager to put the Saints to the sword.

New Orleans have struggled in their opening two matches of the term. They were hammered by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on home soil, while they just managed to edge past the Cleveland Browns. The Saints’ defense found form last season, but appears to have returned to the unit of old. Sean Payton’s men cannot keep relying on Drew Brees’ brilliance to bail them out of trouble. On the road it will not be good enough to see them defeat the Falcons. Take Atlanta to win the contest in the teaser and on a single at 1.67Bet €100 to win €16767/100Bet £100 to win £167-149Bet $100 to win $1670.67Bet HK$100 to win HK$167-1.49Bet Rp100 to win Rp1670.6700Bet RM100 to win RM167  with Bovada.

Green Bay Packers @ Washington Redskins

The Packers managed to escape their clash against the Minnesota Vikings with a tie. Daniel Carlson missed all three of his field-goal attempts, including one late in overtime, to deny the Vikings the victory on the road at Lambeau Field. Green Bay were dealt a harsh blow when Clay Matthew was flagged for roughing the passer for a seemingly clean hit on Kirk Cousins. Mike McCarthy will feel that his side should be 2-0, although it could so easily be 0-2 if not for Aaron Rodgers heroics against the Chicago Bears.

Rodgers is still concerned about his knee that he injured in the opener against the Bears. He hobbled through that game to drag his team back to secure the win, and although he had his issues against the Vikings, Rodgers remained good enough to points on the board. After a good win in the opening game of the campaign against the Arizona Cardinals, Washington were putrid against the Indianapolis Colts. Pressure will grow on head coach Jay Gruden should his team continue to struggle. Alex Smith has talent around him and he will need to be at his best to outduel Rodgers. The Packers should be able to win the contest on the road at odds of 1.69Bet €100 to win €16969/100Bet £100 to win £169-145Bet $100 to win $1690.69Bet HK$100 to win HK$169-1.45Bet Rp100 to win Rp1690.6900Bet RM100 to win RM169  with BetOnline.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Carolina Panthers

The Bengals have a huge opportunity to take command of the AFC North. They beat the Baltimore Ravens last week, while the Pittsburgh Steelers have made a poor start to their campaign. Cincinnati can win their third match of the term by defeating Carolina on the road. Andy Dalton has made an impressive start to the season. He sliced and diced the Ravens’ secondary in their clash last week. Dalton connected three times with AJ Green in the endzone before making several passes in the second half to see out the contest after a revival by Baltimore. The Bengals have the talent on defense to contain Cam Newton, but a lot will rest on the arm of Dalton.

Carolina had a game to forget last week on defense, failing to put Ryan under pressure. As a result, he was able to lead drives downfield with ease. They cannot fall into the same trap with Dalton as he has the talent to expose the depth of their secondary. Newton had a great performance, throwing for 335 yards and three touchdowns. If he’s back to his best, the Panthers should be able to put points on the board. Whether it’s enough to beat the Bengals is another matter. Dallas Cowboys @ Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks are not the Seattle of old. This team are vulnerable and play their first home game of the season with a 0-2 record. Seattle were edged out by the Denver Broncos in their opener before being humbled by the Chicago Bears on Monday. Russell Wilson is beginning to feel the pressure, throwing a pick-six in the defeat to Chicago. A lot of the blame for Seattle’s demise has been placed on his shoulders along with Pete Carroll’s. The defense is a shadow of the team that dominated the NFL for two years on the bounce. This unit could barely contain Mitchell Trubisky, allowing 27 points at Soldier Field.

Dallas will be determined to capitalise on their deficiencies, although they have not been an offensive juggernaut themselves. Dak Prescott has had problems throwing downfield. He did connect with Tavon Austin for a 64-yard touchdown. Ezekiel Elliott has had a steady start to the season, but has not had the explosive game that he is more than capable of providing. The Cowboys will be looking to him to spark their offense into life. Dallas’ defensive line has the ability to get to Wilson in the pocket and that will be the foundation of a win on the road. Oakland Raiders @ Miami Dolphins

Jon Gruden’s second spell at the Raiders has got off to a disastrous start. The club made the decision to trade away star pass-rusher Khalil Mack, which has resulted in the Raiders being unable to generate pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Jared Goff had time to lead the Los Angeles Rams to victory in the opener, while Case Keenum led a late drive in the fourth quarter to guide the Denver Broncos over the line. Oakland are under huge pressure now to avoid their third defeat on the bounce.

Miami are searching for their third win on the bounce after reeling off impressive performances against the Tennessee Titans and the New York Jets. Ryan Tannehill has been steady in his opening two matches, playing with greater control against the Jets than he did against the Titans. The Dolphins’ defense looks a solid unit, while Xavien Howard is slowly developing into one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. Adam Gase’s men should be able to edge their way to victory at odds of -165 with Bovada.
