Wild Flower to Blossom at Lingfield Racecourse
12:00 Lingfield – Wild Flower
Lingfield starts bright and early on Tuesday and there are a few solid opportunities sprinkled through a card which features horses with a range of abilities. The first runner that jumps out to us is the Jimmy Fox trained Wild Flower. A last time out winner, the 5-year-old mare seems to have been undervalued by the market and is available at an attractive price. This race is likely to end with a tight finish, but there are plenty of conditions in favour of the Approve mare. She can be supported at decent odds, and is likely to trade shorter in running.
Interestingly, Wild Flower was 0/29 until July of this year, when she got off the mark at Brighton. The horse has kept her form very well since that run and has notched up a further two successes since then, including last time out over course and distance. She was drawn wide in stall 9 last time out and had to race wide early and use up some petrol to get a handy position. After turning for home in front, she looked vulnerable, but showed a game attitude to grind out the victory. Wild Flower’s main adversary Arcanista re-opposes today on better terms but Jimmy Fox’s horse has a much better draw today, being berthed in stall 2. The low draw should allow Wild Flower to poach an early lead and she has shown her best form when allowed to dominate. In 6-furlong handicaps at Lingfield, there is a bias towards horses who show early pace and Kieran O’Neill has won on the horse before.
Due to her running style and the lack of competition for the early lead, Wild Flower is likely to have a nice time of it up front and should be trading shorter than her starting price of 6.00Bet €100 to win €6005/1Bet £100 to win £600+500Bet $100 to win $6005.00Bet HK$100 to win HK$6005.00Bet Rp100 to win Rp600-0.2000Bet RM100 to win RM600 with BetVictor when turning for home.
12.30 Lingfield – Malaysian Boleh
Division two of the 6-furlong handicap at Lingfield is also an open event on paper and Malaysian Boleh looks to be a shade over priced given his prior form at the course. Promising young jockey Nicola Currie takes the ride and although this veteran will require some luck in running and the breaks, he could well have the race run to suit. Phil McEntee’s horse can be supported at odds of 10.00Bet €100 to win €10009/1Bet £100 to win £1000+900Bet $100 to win $10009.00Bet HK$100 to win HK$10009.00Bet Rp100 to win Rp1000-0.1111Bet RM100 to win RM1000 with BetVictor.
Malaysian Boleh is a horse who thrives in Class 6 company and he has a fantastic record; 5/22 with a further 4 places. Furthermore, he goes well at Lingfield, winning 3/15 with a further 5 places. The horse ran a creditable race last time out over an insufficient 5 furlongs last time out at Chelmsford and that should have put him spot on for this contest.
Overall, Malaysian Boleh really hasn’t fired this year. Since winning in March off a mark of 70, the horse has tumbled in the weights and is now racing off 62 – he could be well handicapped. Stall 9 would often be a burden but because the horse likes to be held up early, he won’t be inconvenienced by the draw. A larger in running price would not be a surprise, so in-running players may want to wait until mid-race to get involved, but regardless the currently available odds of 10.00Bet €100 to win €10009/1Bet £100 to win £1000+900Bet $100 to win $10009.00Bet HK$100 to win HK$10009.00Bet Rp100 to win Rp1000-0.1111Bet RM100 to win RM1000 are juicy.
