Both Teams to Score When Denmark Host Germany
A whole host of World Cup qualifiers lay just around the corner, but before we get into the serious business of competing for a place at Russia 2018, there are a number of international friendlies to get stuck into. Across Tuesday and Wednesday night this week, several international sides will continue their warm-up to the weekend’s games.
Germany are one such side in action, although they have named a vastly inexperienced squad for their summer commitments. After an away friendly in Denmark on Tuesday night, the Germans face San Marino in a World Cup qualifier on Saturday. Once that game is completed the squad will head onto FIFA’s Confederations Cup, to be held in Russia later in June.
Julian Draxler is the most-capped player in the German ranks with 28 appearances, and is also joint-top scorer in the squad along with Jonas Hector (three goals each). Coach Joachim Low has obviously decided that his star players need not appear for a qualifier against one of Europe’s minnows, nor for the friendly tournament which is the Confederations Cup. This decision, however, should sound alarm bells for those wishing to rush in and back Germany to win in Denmark on Tuesday night.
There are various other lower-profile games to consider on the night, and one which presents another betting opportunity is the clash between Ukraine and Malta. The Ukrainians have won their last three matches on home soil, and away defeats are something that Malta is well used to by now.
Denmark v Germany
First up we’ll take the 1.71Bet €100 to win €17171/100Bet £100 to win £171-141Bet $100 to win $1710.71Bet HK$100 to win HK$171-1.41Bet Rp100 to win Rp1710.7100Bet RM100 to win RM171 on offer with 188Bet about both teams finding the net.
Denmark missed out on the Euros last year, and they’re up against it in World Cup qualifying. Poland are six points clear at the top of group E, and the Danes are in the mix with Montenegro and Romania for 2nd position and a play off spot. Next up for them is a tricky away tie in Kazakhstan on Saturday.
It’s been two draws on the bounce for Denmark, a 0-0 draw with Romania following a 1-1 stalemate against Czech Republic. Home form is much more promising though, with four wins in the last five and only two defeats in the last twelve matches. Montenegro snatched a 1-0 victory last October in World Cup qualifying, and France won 2-1 in a friendly here in October the previous year.
Germany are in cruise control, as you’d expect. Five wins from five in qualifying puts them top of group C, five points clear of Northern Ireland. It’s difficult to back them with so many first team players missing, but there is more than enough quality among the German youngsters to be competitive.
Ukraine v Malta
Malta are a small nation both in size and international football stature, so the 1.50Bet €100 to win €1501/2Bet £100 to win £150-200Bet $100 to win $1500.50Bet HK$100 to win HK$150-2.00Bet Rp100 to win Rp1500.5000Bet RM100 to win RM150 with BetVictor about a Ukraine win to nil looks more than fair.
Malta are winless in their last sixteen games, losing the last six on the trot. Moreover, they’ve only scored three times in the last 17 away matches. Bottom of England’s group with five defeats, it continues to be a harsh introduction to the international stage for the relative newcomer.
Ukraine were poor at last year’s Euros, losing all three games to Germany, Poland and Northern Ireland. Qualifying is going a little better, but they still have ground to make up on Croatia and Iceland, in a group which also includes Turkey. The Ukrainians won three in a row against Kosovo, Finland and Serbia without conceding a goal, before going down 1-0 away in Croatia back in March.
Spearheaded by former striking legend Shevchenko, Ukraine are a cut above Malta at international level. the game will be played in a neutral venue in Graz, Austria, and it should be a relatively easy assignment for the ‘home’ side.
