Take the Wright Bet in Premier League Darts
Peter Wright lead the Premier League table and we’re siding with Snakebite once again as the Betway Premier League visits Rotterdam for night seven of the campaign.
It was a great event in Glasgow last Thursday evening on night six of the Premier League, as Wright continued his fine vein of form with a 7-5 victory over James Wade. Fresh from winning his first ever TV tournament at the UK Open, Snakebite raced into a 5-1 lead before heading off a Wade comeback to win 7-5. It was a similar story for Gary Anderson, who started like a house on fire to scoot into a 5-0 lead against Dave Chisnall. The Flying Scotsman was pegged back to 5-3, but took out the next two legs to secure a comfortable 7-3 win.
Michael van Gerwen returned from his recent back injury to beat Kim Huybrechts 7-5, but he had to survive a scare as the Belgian ran him very close. Raymond van Barneveld came back from 4-1 down to beat Jell Klaasen 7-5, but he was fortunate that his opponent missed 75% of checkouts. The Dutchman will be pumped for this meeting on home soil, but he will get no such generosity from this week’s opponent, Gary Anderson. Finally, Phil Taylor’s unbeaten record came to an end as he went down 7-4 to his great friend Adrian Lewis. The Power may have been fortunate to have come this far without defeat after posting some average displays, and it doesn’t get any easier this week with a game against world number one van Gerwen.
Peter Wright v Dave Chisnall
Peter Wright is fancied at 1.62Bet €100 to win €16231/50Bet £100 to win £162-161Bet $100 to win $1620.62Bet HK$100 to win HK$162-1.61Bet Rp100 to win Rp1620.6200Bet RM100 to win RM162 with BetVictor , 188Bet , and Betway to get the better of Dave Chisnall.
Wright beat Chizzy 10-5 en route to the UK Open win, and has been in much better form so far this year. Although he only posted a modest average of 95.42 in the win over Wade last week, he’s managed 100.73 during the course of 2017. Chisnall posted just 92.67 in his 7-3 reverse to Gary Anderson in Glasgow, and with a total average of 95.60 for 2017, the gulf between the two players right now is clear to see.
Chizzy salvaged his Premier League campaign two weeks ago when he notched a pair of wins over van Barneveld and Wade, but he’s lost four of his seven matches and sits 7th in the table.
Raymond van Barneveld v Gary Anderson
Gary Anderson used the home crowd to his advantage last week in Glasgow, but will have to overcome such support for van Barneveld when he takes on the Dutchman in Rotterdam. The Flying Scotsman is fancied to silence the crowd at 1.73Bet €100 to win €17373/100Bet £100 to win £173-137Bet $100 to win $1730.73Bet HK$100 to win HK$173-1.37Bet Rp100 to win Rp1730.7300Bet RM100 to win RM173 with William Hill.
Van Barneveld rode his luck in a big way last week after falling to a 4-1 deficit against Jelle Klaasen, eventually coming back to win 7-5. Klaasen managed to nail just 25% of checkouts, and missed doubles cost him dear as the game slipped away. However, Barney recorded an average of just 96.46 in picking up just his second win in six Premier League games this season.
Anderson has moved up to third in the table and posted a three-dart average of 101.71. Despite only winning two Premier League games (drawn 3, lost 1), Anderson has been in very consistent form throughout the competition so far. He’s second in the tournament average table behind van Gerwen, having recorded 102.18 across the Premier League. He’s also top of the 180 table with 25 maximums, and second in the checkout table with a tournament average of 40.66%.
Kim Huybrechts v Adrian Lewis
Finally, Adrian Lewis is a fair shout at 2.00Bet €100 to win €2001/1Bet £100 to win £200+100Bet $100 to win $2001.00Bet HK$100 to win HK$2001.00Bet Rp100 to win Rp2001.0000Bet RM100 to win RM200 with Bwin to beat Huybrechts.
Lewis tops that tournament checkout table with 41.33%, and outplayed Phil Taylor last week. He landed seven 180s during the contest, recording a 98.71 average in the 7-4 win. He’s won nine of the last eleven match ups between the two players, and sitting 8th in the league table, the Jackpot has some work to do to get within touching distance of the play offs.
Huybrechts performed incredibly well in defeat to van Gerwen last week, posting a 101.72 average. It was finishing which let him down though, and he’ll be ruing all the missed doubles as MVG came back to take advantage. He’s won just one of his fifteen Premier League games to date, and this is a great opportunity for Lewis to charge up the table with a win.
